The Kodiak bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi), also known as the Kodiak brown bear or the Alaskan grizzly bear or American brown bear, occupies the coastal areas and islands of the Kodiak Archipelago in South-Western Alaska. It is the largest subspecies of brown bear. These two youngsters (sub-adults) were much more interested in playing with one another than grazing the sedges. Halo Bay, Katmai National Park.
