Cedar Mountain, which is also known as "Spirit Mountain" is the smaller of two peaks that can be seen just outside of Cody, Wyoming in the Absaroka Range. These two peaks are divided by the Shoshone River as it leaves the Buffalo Bill Reservoir.<br />
"Spirit Mountain" has to do with the fact that about 100 years ago there were still active geysers on the mountain and Native Americans in the area regarded these steaming holes in the ground as the mountain's spirit escaping.
