The Ermine (Mustela erminea), also known as short-tailed weasel, is a species of Mustelid native to North America, distinguished from the least weasel by its larger size and longer tail with a prominent black tip. The black tip is clever natural engineering. As predators zero in on it, the weasel is long gone. Soda Butte Creek confluence with Lamar River, Yellowstone.
