Yellow Flowers (8 images)
The Yellow Water-lily (Nuphar lutea) is an aquatic plant common to lakes and pond in Yellowstone. It grows with its roots fixed into the lake bed and its leaves floating on the water surface; it can grow in water up to 16 feet deep. When you find them you have found a pond rich in nutrients and you are likely to find an entire fresh water ecosystem surrounding it.
