Orange Spring Mound is one of the most famous thermal features in the Mammoth Hot Springs area of YNP. The spring is actually at the very top of the mound. The spring builds travertine 24/7 and a photo of the mound in 1883 showed the entire mound to be only 2/3rds as high as it is today.
