

Cow Parnip (Heracleum sphondylium var. lanatum)a member of the carrot family, grows in alpine areas of Yellowstone, with water present. In its early stages (late June - early July)the shoots and leaves are very tender and sweet. A favorite of native Americans and grizzly bears alike!
