The Kodiak bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi), also known as the Kodiak brown bear or the Alaskan grizzly bear or American brown bear, occupies the coastal areas and islands of the Kodiak Archipelago in South-Western Alaska. It is the largest subspecies of brown bear. This big male spent much of his time just following a female from a distance. He went where ever she went, and just hung back. Halo Bay, Katmai National Park.
