Tweedy's rush (Juncus tweedyi), or warm spring rush, sometimes the only vascular plant growing in acidic hydrothermal areas. This rush or grass is known to grow only in a few places in Yellowstone and just a few other places in the whole world.
It grows here in Obsidian creek, between Roaring Mountain and the Grizzly Lake trail head where the stream water is indeed warm and acidic.
